Measuring spoons and cups
- 2 pounds 1 kg chicken breast or thigh, cut into bite-sized cubes
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- 1 teaspoon accent seasoning optional for added flavor
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon white pepper
- 1 teaspoon red chili flakes adjust to taste for spice
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil canola or any mild oil
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1/2 cup garlic finely crushed or chopped
- 2 stalks green onions chopped
- 3/4 cup soy sauce
Season the Chicken:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the chicken cubes with the 1/4 cup of flour, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon white pepper, 1 teaspoon red chili flakes, and 1 tablespoon cornstarch. Mix well so the chicken is coated evenly.
Fry the Chicken:
Once the oil is hot, carefully add the chicken cubes to the pan, making sure they’re not overcrowded. Fry the chicken in batches, turning occasionally, until golden brown and cooked through, about 7-8 minutes per batch. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Prepare the Sauce:
In a separate small pan, combine the soy sauce, crushed garlic, green onions, sesame seeds, and Accent seasoning (optional). Bring to a simmer over low heat, stirring frequently until the sauce thickens slightly, about 3-4 minutes.
