Ingredients
  

  • 2 chicken breasts cut into strips
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • ½ cup flour
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 chicken cube
  • 2 tbsp white wine
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 medium onion sliced
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup mixed vegetables carrots, peas, or green beans
  • 2 tbsp capers
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

Sauté the Vegetables

  • Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onions and mushrooms, sautéing for about 2 minutes. Remove and set aside.

Cook the Chicken

  • Season chicken strips with salt and pepper. In the same skillet, sear the chicken on both sides for about 5 minutes until golden and cooked through. Remove from the skillet.

Make the Sauce

  • In the skillet, melt the butter and stir in the flour. Cook for 1-2 minutes without browning. Gradually whisk in the chicken broth, scraping up the flavorful bits from the pan. Add the chicken cube and let it dissolve.

Combine and Simmer

  • Return the chicken and vegetables to the skillet. Add the wine, Worcestershire sauce, capers, and lemon juice. Simmer on medium heat for about 8 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Finish with Cream

  • Stir in the heavy cream just before serving. Let it heat through but avoid boiling. Adjust seasoning as needed.
