Equipment

  • Skillet
  • Knife
  • Cutting Board
  • Measuring spoons
  • plate

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • ½ cup low-sodium chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

Instructions

Prepare the Chicken:

  • Begin by patting the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. This helps to create a nice sear when cooking. Season both sides of the chicken with salt, pepper, turmeric powder, and dried thyme. The turmeric adds a subtle flavor and is known for its anti-inflammatory properties, which are beneficial for liver health.

Sauté the Chicken:

  • Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the chicken breasts and cook for about 6-7 minutes per side until they are golden brown and cooked through. The internal temperature should reach 165°F (74°C).

Prepare the Sauce:

  • While the chicken is cooking, combine the garlic, lemon juice, and chicken broth in a small bowl. After removing the cooked chicken from the skillet, pour the chicken broth mixture into the pan and bring it to a simmer. Add the apple cider vinegar and cook for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.

Combine and Serve:

  • Place the chicken back into the skillet and spoon the sauce over it. Let it cook for another 2 minutes, ensuring the chicken is well coated with the flavorful sauce. Sprinkle the chopped parsley on top for a fresh touch and serve.
