Equipment

  • Blackstone griddle or large flat-top grill
  • Spatula or tongs
  • Knife and cutting board
  • Small mixing bowl
  • Measuring spoons and cups

Ingredients

For The Chicken:

  • 1 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon avocado oil
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce

For The Sauce:

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon minced ginger
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic

Instructions

  • Heat your Blackstone griddle over medium high heat (around 400°F). Drizzle the avocado and sesame oil onto the griddle. Add the minced garlic to the griddle and sauté for about 1 minute until aromatic.
  • Add the cubed chicken to the griddle. Saute, turning frequently, until the chicken is lightly browned and cooked through, approximately 3–4 minutes per side. While the chicken cooks, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, minced ginger, and minced garlic in a small bowl.
  • Once the chicken is cooked, pour the prepared sauce over the chicken on the griddle. Stir to coat the chicken evenly and cook for an additional 2–3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly. Remove the chicken from the griddle and serve immediately while warm.

Notes

While boneless, skinless chicken breasts can be used, I prefer the flavor and tenderness of thighs for this dish. For deeper flavor, marinate the chicken for at least 30 minutes, or overnight if possible. Ensure the griddle is adequately preheated to achieve a good sear on the chicken and vegetables
